Introduction to the course
The course can be completed by electricians and trainees at any level. Yet, there is depth in the program for those more experienced in the Code. The course uses a heavily illustrated text, Mike Holt’s Illustrated Guide to Understanding the National Electrical Code, Volume 1, Based on the 2026 NEC. There is an online component consisting of testing, instructional diagrams, technical insight, and NEC commentary. The text of the NEC itself is an important part of this course. You will need the NEC alongside the study text throughout the course. The 45-hour 2026 NEC course is delivered by correspondence. It can be completed at your own pace at your home or office. There is no need to travel to a classroom. Testing at the end of each unit is completed online and automatically graded.
If you need a copy of the 2026 NEC, you can add it to your purchase of the course.
